Thin William Probe & CP Screening Probe
The AzeeMed Thin Williams Probe and CP Screening Probe are periodontal diagnostic instruments. The Thin Williams Probe and CP Screening Probe are periodontic instruments designed for measuring the health of the periodontal tissues, particularly of the gingival margin and the tissues supporting the teeth. They possess slender, blunt, blunted working ends with marked millimeter increments that facilitate accurate measurement of gingival sulcus depth and periodontal pocket depth. The working end of the Thin Williams probe has a narrower diameter compared to the regular Williams probe and can be employed effectively in narrowly located areas of contact between the teeth (tight interproximal spaces) and in other soft, delicate regions. This is marked with the usual Williams marking of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 mm to give a clear reading during the procedure. The CP Screening Probe is designed to allow for rapid screening of periodontal status and it has the feature of being tipped with a round ball end to minimise trauma to tissues and it also uses color coded bands in order to give the ranges of pocket depth more quickly in routine checkups. They both help in the identification of periodontic disease, measuring the pocket depth and assessingbleeding on probing as well as treatment outcome, which means they are applicable to the examination of both the anterior and the posterior areas of the mouth. Both instruments are usually made of high grade stainless steel and therefore are resistant to corrosion and can be sterilized very easily. Usually their handles are provided with a knurled or satin finish which aids with grip and better control while they are being utilized.
