Dental Williams Probe
The AzeeMed Dental Williams Probe is an accurate periodontic tool that is utilized to assess the overall health of the gums through the measurement of the depth of the periodontal pockets surrounding teeth. It has a thin working end that tapers to a point, with clear mm markings on it. Some commonly read mm measurements on a William probe are 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 mm. It is constructed out of high quality stainless steel which means that it will hold its strength, fight corrosion and wear, and also is easy to sterilize. The working tip is round in shape to ensure that the soft tissues are not being irritated. Its working tip has smooth, rounded surfaces to decrease trauma to the gingiva. Most have a lightweight, ergonomically shaped handle which usually has a satin finish on it to increase grip, and decrease light from the operatory from glinting off of the instrument.
