UNC15 & Screening Probe
The AzeeMed periodontal diagnostic probe used for measuring periodontal pocket and gingival sulcus depths, has a blunt, thin tip and calibrated millimeter measurements.The UNC-15 periodontal probe, developed by the University of North Carolina, uses millimeter markings at 1-15mm increments so that it has highly accurate periodontal charting capability especially when moderate and severe periodontitis cases are present. The Screening probe is used to determine the initial status of periodontal health, to screen for symptoms of gum disease (attachment loss, bleeding and pocket formation), as well as being used for other normal checkups. Periodontal probes are used for the diagnosis of periodontal disease, for tracking its progression, and for evaluating treatment outcome. It is useful for oral examinations as the tip is small and usually angled and may fit between teeth in posterior areas. These instruments are commonly made of stainless steel; corrosion resistant, extremely durable and can be sterilized for reuse. Some of the probes have a knurled or satin finish on the handle to improve control while measuring.$30.50
